OK, throughout this site you have probably come to realize that Roxy is by far my favorite brand. I own several Roxy girls board shorts. I have some Roxy shorts that go as far back as five years and still wear them to this day.
Many people may not know that Roxy was founded by the same people who invented Quicksilver. Roxy was founded in 1990. In my search for trying to find the actual person who developed the Roxy brand, a Alan Green came up. I know he was the original inventor and owner of Quicksilver, but I do not know the level of involvement he had with Roxy. Nevertheless it’s all the same company and Roxy looked to be a branch off that was geared to targeting younger women. In 1993, the Roxy logo was born, a heart-shaped crest adapted from Quicksilver’s logo.
Roxy was able to get traction early thus resulting in becoming a large clothing company that younger women have grown to live by, including myself. Something else you may not know is that they are more than just an apparel company. Roxy also produces books, shoes, wet suits, household items along with many other product categories. These brands will be seen as of course Roxy, Roxy Girl and Teenie Wahine.
Ok, so now you have the story of how Roxy came about, let me tell you about Roxy girls board shorts. Let me preface this paragraph by saying I have tried all the other girls board shorts out there such as Volcom girls board shorts, Hurley girls board shorts and even Billabong girls board shorts. These are all great manufactures and board shorts, but for the money and quality I have lived and died by Roxy girls board shorts. The attention to detail on the stitching is excellent and the Velcro also seems to be of higher grade, now I’m not an expert, but this is just my opinion.
The true difference is style and function. Since I have had several Roxy girls board shorts, I feel the more you wear them the more comfortable they become. I have no significant wear marks in any of my board shorts and I’m as about as hard on them as you can imagine.
Some of the styles that I own include:
- Tiger Wave
- Last Wave
- Rox-Two-O
- Gidget Long Boardshorts (a bit lengthy for me, but cool to chill in)
- Be Hippie
- Rock Steady
- Zebra Lilly
- Electric Feel (not sure what fabric this is, but very cool feeling on the hips)
Not so give you to long of list, I have several other styles, but just wanted to show you how passionate I am with Roxy girls board shorts. They will last forever and give you a since of style that I know you’re looking for on your next trip. Even by chance you’re not happy with your Roxy Girls Board Shorts, Roxy has its own customer service center that you can call…here is the number 1-800-892-2281 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 1-800-892-2281 end_of_the_skype_highlighting.
As for location where I buy all my boardshorts…online of course;), But Pacsun is probably second to kicking back with my laptop and shopping online.
